Daniella
Daniella is a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience at King’s College London. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and an MSc in Mental Health Studies from King’s.
Daniella first joined the CONtributions of social NETworks to Community Thriving (CONNECT) study through her master’s dissertation and has continued her involvement beyond the course. Since joining CONNECT full-time, she has contributed to data analysis and write-ups for several research papers and led the organisation of the photovoice exhibition event, which showcased the photographs and zines created by community members.
Before transitioning into research, Daniella gained clinical experience as an Assistant Psychologist in NHS and private settings, working in IAPT services and inpatient care. These experiences deepened her interest in health inequalities affecting Black and racially minoritised individuals in both community and healthcare contexts. She is particularly interested in community focused support and further exploring the experiences of belonging and identification among second- and third-generation immigrant young people.
